There are facilities for all kinds of visitors. These include:

  • Multi-use trails for hikers and mountain bikers.
  • Picnic tables and shelters.
  • Restrooms
  • Some handicap accessible facilities.

Hiking the Sisters Trail

The Sisters Trail is a loop trail that begins at the parking lot on the eastern end of the park, and is linked with several other trails. This can make the route about a mile-and-a-half long.

Begin hiking north on a short trail that will link with the Sisters Trail. Bear right, and continue north. One the left will be a rock outcropping known as Brother’s Lookout. The trail will eventually come to a junction. Turn left and hike uphill through switchbacks. The Three Sisters rock outcrop will be visible, and the trail will pass by these rocks before descending the backside of the ridge.

Continue south now on the trail until it junctions with the Ponderosa Trail. Just past this junction is a spur trail leading up to Brother’s Lookout. This short extension is worth the side hike, as there is a great view at the top of the surrounding valley. This is a good place for a lunch break and taking pictures. Finish the hike by following the Ponderosa Trail back to the trail intersection with the Sisters Trail, and turn right to return to the parking lot.

The Sisters Trail passes through a ponderosa pine forest, and there may be opportunities to see a fox along the way. The trail is also very rocky, so wear appropriate footwear. Also, this is a multi-use trail, and there may be mountain bikers sharing the trail.
